Qatar's Ministry of Sports and Youth has launched its 2026 Summer Plan, introducing a nationwide programme featuring more than 550 activities aimed at engaging young people throughout the school holidays.

Organised in partnership with youth centres and a range of national institutions, the initiative is designed to provide educational, cultural, sporting and recreational opportunities that help young people develop new skills, explore their interests and strengthen community engagement. The programme forms part of the ministry's broader efforts to empower youth and support Qatar National Vision 2030.

Programme Covers Seven Key Themes

This year's summer plan is built around seven strategic themes that reflect the ministry's priorities for youth development. These include education, research and innovation; employment and entrepreneurship; civic participation; youth health; social issues; digital media and information technology; and specialised programmes tailored to the interests and needs of different age groups.

The ministry said the programme aims to strengthen national identity, promote Qatari values, encourage responsible citizenship and provide participants with a safe, engaging and interactive learning environment.

More Than 550 Activities Across Qatar

The summer programme includes 550 activities organised by youth centres and organisations across the country.

Among them are 142 activities focused on civic participation, 125 dedicated to education, research and innovation, and 118 centred on youth health and wellbeing. Additional events will address entrepreneurship, environmental awareness, technology, digital skills and social responsibility.

Participants will have access to training workshops, youth camps, sporting events, cultural programmes, volunteer initiatives and competitions designed to build leadership, teamwork, creativity and practical skills.

Focus on Skills and Future Readiness

The Ministry of Sports and Youth said the initiative reflects its commitment to preparing young people for future opportunities by combining learning with hands-on experiences.

Through partnerships with government entities and community organisations, the programme encourages participants to explore innovation, entrepreneurship and emerging technologies while developing personal and professional skills that support long-term success.

The initiative also promotes active lifestyles, community engagement and lifelong learning, helping young people become more confident, resilient and socially responsible.

Youth Centres Ready to Welcome Participants

According to the ministry, youth centres across Qatar have completed the necessary administrative and logistical preparations to deliver activities throughout the summer.

The ministry has encouraged young people and their families to follow announcements from participating youth centres to learn more about schedules, registration and available programmes.

Supporting Qatar National Vision 2030

The Summer Plan aligns with Qatar National Vision 2030 by investing in human development and creating opportunities for young people to contribute to the country's future.

By offering a diverse programme that combines education, innovation, entrepreneurship, health, culture and community participation, the initiative aims to nurture the next generation of leaders while reinforcing Qatar's commitment to developing a knowledge-based, innovative and inclusive society.
