Doha, Qatar — Qatar Science & Technology Park (QSTP), part of Qatar Foundation, has reported steady activity across its startup, investor, and research ecosystem, supported by continued participation in accelerator programmes, mentorship initiatives, and sector-focused innovation platforms.

The update reflects ongoing engagement from founders and partners despite wider regional uncertainty, with QSTP continuing to position itself as a key hub for applied research, technology development, incubation, and entrepreneurship in Qatar.

Startup activity continues through online and hybrid engagement

QSTP maintained active engagement with entrepreneurs in recent weeks through 12 online workshops, reaching more than 1,100 participants. The park also held five pitching sessions and six targeted mentorship engagements, helping startups continue receiving guidance, feedback, and growth support.

Its accelerator programmes have also continued online, with plans to resume on-ground activity in Qatar as scheduled. This continuity highlights the role of digital delivery in maintaining founder support, especially during periods when travel or in-person engagement may be affected.

Global participation strengthens QSTP’s pipeline

QSTP’s recent accelerator activity shows strong international interest in Qatar’s innovation ecosystem. The QSTP x TotalEnergies WaterTech Accelerator received 226 applications from 79 countries, while the QSTP x Merck FemTech Accelerator attracted 242 applications from 64 countries. Women-led startups represented 71 percent of applicants to the FemTech programme.

The WaterTech Accelerator is designed to support startups developing solutions for water efficiency, reuse, loss reduction, pollution management, data systems, and AI-enabled infrastructure. The programme focuses on helping companies test and validate market-ready solutions with utilities, corporates, research institutions, and ecosystem partners across Qatar and the wider West Asia and North Africa region.

Meanwhile, the QSTP x Merck FemTech Accelerator focuses on women’s health innovation, supporting high-potential startups working on solutions that can move from development into real-world deployment. The programme forms part of Qatar’s wider push to build stronger links between healthcare, deep technology, and applied innovation.

More than 400 companies hosted at QSTP

QSTP currently hosts more than 400 companies, including multinational corporations, startups, SMEs, and research-focused organisations. Its ecosystem includes activity across energy, artificial intelligence, sustainability, health technology, and other applied technology sectors.

As a free zone and innovation hub, QSTP provides companies with access to facilities, incentive programmes, research and development grants, and connections to Qatar Foundation’s wider network of universities, research centres, and innovation entities. Qatar Foundation describes QSTP as a hub for applied research, technology innovation, incubation, and entrepreneurship, bringing together international corporations, SMEs, research institutions, and local tech startups.

AI and healthtech emerge as priority areas

Artificial intelligence and health technology are among the most active areas of growth within QSTP’s ecosystem. AI-related activity includes machine learning, data infrastructure, and applied intelligence, while healthtech growth is being shaped by startups developing practical solutions aimed at improving outcomes.

This focus reflects Qatar’s broader efforts to support deep technology and applied innovation, particularly in areas that can contribute to economic diversification and long-term research capacity.

The 300 supports women’s role in investment

QSTP is also working to expand participation in early-stage investment through The 300, an initiative designed to educate and empower women in Qatar to become active participants in the venture capital ecosystem. The programme focuses on investment fundamentals, startup case studies, founder interaction, due diligence, portfolio strategy, and gender-lens investing.

The initiative has grown into a community of more than 300 members, with 45 participants receiving certificates of completion. Across eight structured sessions, the programme has aimed to help women move from ecosystem participation into more active roles as investors and startup supporters.

Qatar’s innovation hub ambitions

QSTP’s latest activity points to sustained startup and investor confidence in Qatar’s innovation environment. The combination of accelerator demand, international applications, sector-focused programmes, and continued R&D activity suggests that Qatar is strengthening its position as a regional base for technology development.

With continued focus on AI, healthtech, sustainability, water technology, and applied deep tech, QSTP is expected to remain central to Qatar’s efforts to attract founders, support research commercialisation, and connect startups with investors, corporates, and academic institutions.
