UDST Signs Support Deal With Student Founded Startup Be My Sense

Doha, Qatar - The University of Doha for Science and Technology has signed a technology support contract with Be My Sense, a startup founded by UDST students and developed through the university’s incubation centre, UHUB. The agreement marks a new step in the university’s efforts to back student entrepreneurship and help campus-born innovations move closer to commercial growth and wider social impact. 

From student project to startup

Be My Sense was founded by students Mohamed Ali and Ahmed El Abed under the mentorship of Dr. Wagdi Alrawagfeh, assistant dean of IT Student Affairs at UDST’s College of Computing and Information Technology. The startup emerged from an award-winning student project that gained international recognition at the Huawei ICT Competition 2024–2025 Global Final in China, where the team representing Qatar secured second place in the Innovation Track.

An AI platform focused on accessibility

The startup is building an inclusive AI-powered platform aimed at supporting deaf and hard-of-hearing individuals. Its solution combines real-time translation, smart wearables and digital assistance to reduce communication barriers across education, workplaces and public settings. The project stands out for linking advanced technology with accessibility goals and practical social impact. 

The new contract creates a formal framework for collaboration between UDST and Be My Sense, with a focus on supporting the startup’s next stage of development. This includes strengthening its scalability, improving its readiness for market entry and helping transform a successful university innovation into a deployable solution with broader reach. 

Strengthening the university’s innovation ecosystem

The agreement also reflects UDST’s broader strategy of encouraging students to turn academic work into real-world ventures. Through UHUB, the university has been building an ecosystem that connects students with incubation support, mentorship and entrepreneurial development opportunities. Be My Sense is also listed among the startups supported through UHUB, underlining the centre’s role in nurturing student-led ventures.
