SkipCash Secures Strategic Investment from QIIB to Drive Fintech Growth
- by Falak .
Doha, Qatar - SkipCash has secured a strategic investment from Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB), marking a major milestone in the company's growth and reinforcing collaboration between Qatar's banking and fintech sectors. The investment is expected to accelerate the development of digital payment technologies while supporting the country's broader digital transformation and financial innovation agenda.
The partnership aligns with Qatar's National Fintech Strategy and the Qatar Central Bank's Third Financial Sector Strategy, both of which aim to foster innovation, expand digital financial services, and strengthen the country's position as a regional fintech hub.
The new funding will support SkipCash's expansion by enhancing its digital payment infrastructure and accelerating the rollout of new financial technologies.
Key priorities include:
Expanding payment infrastructure and merchant services
Accelerating product development and innovation
Strengthening the company's merchant ecosystem
Introducing new payment technologies for businesses
Supporting regional expansion across GCC markets through strategic partnerships
The investment is intended to help businesses adopt secure, scalable and efficient digital payment solutions while supporting the growing demand for cashless transactions.
Founded in 2019, SkipCash has grown into one of Qatar's largest homegrown fintech companies. Licensed by the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) and regulated by the Qatar Central Bank (QCB), the company now serves more than 10,000 merchants across multiple industries.
During 2025, SkipCash processed payment transactions exceeding QAR 1 billion, reflecting the increasing adoption of digital payment solutions among businesses operating in Qatar.
SkipCash provides a broad range of payment technologies that enable businesses to accept and manage payments across multiple channels.
Its product portfolio includes:
Merchant acquiring services
Online payment gateways
Payment links
QR code payments
Tap to Phone (SoftPOS) technology
Mobile payment solutions
Integrated payment services for businesses
These services are designed to help businesses digitise payment acceptance while improving operational efficiency and customer experience.
The QIIB investment follows SkipCash's successful US$4 million Series A funding round completed earlier in 2026. That round included backing from several prominent Qatari investors, including:
Qatar Development Bank (QDB)
Qatar Islamic Insurance Company (QIIC)
KBN Holding Group
Finjan Venture Investments
Doha Tech Angels
Together, these investments provide additional capital to support product innovation, market expansion and long-term business growth.
The partnership reflects Qatar's continued investment in financial technology and digital infrastructure. By combining the expertise of an established Islamic bank with one of the country's fastest-growing fintech companies, the collaboration aims to expand financial accessibility, encourage innovation, and strengthen the local fintech ecosystem.
As Qatar continues to promote digital payments and cashless transactions, investments such as this are expected to play an important role in advancing the country's ambition of becoming a regional leader in digital finance while supporting businesses with modern, secure payment technologies.
