MOCI's Regulatory Record Report gives consumers and businesses a compliance snapshot, before, not after, the contract is signed

Doha, Qatar

Thinking about signing with a new supplier, contractor, or business partner in Qatar? There's now an official way to check their track record first.

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has rolled out the Regulatory Record Report, a new digital service that lets consumers and businesses pull up general compliance indicators on companies operating in the country — before any contract gets signed.

The idea is simple: replace guesswork and word-of-mouth with an official source. The report shows a company's name, licence number, business activity, and licence status, alongside compliance indicators such as the number of complaints and violations filed against it, any administrative closures, how complaints have been classified, and how responsive the company has been to resolving them.

It's the latest move in MOCI's broader push on digital transformation and regulatory oversight — part of a wider effort to build trust in Qatar's business environment by making information more transparent and reducing reliance on unofficial or unverified sources.

How companies' data gets shared

MOCI has built in two routes for accessing a report. Companies can pre-authorize disclosure of their own compliance data, with that consent recorded and archived under approved procedures. Alternatively, if a company hasn't pre-consented, MOCI will reach out when a report is requested — and the report only becomes available to the requester once the company is notified and gives its approval.

How to request one

The service is live now on MOCI's site: Regulatory Record Report Users log in via Tawtheeq, then navigate: Digital Platform Services → Services → Inquiries → Compliance Record Report.

Why it matters

For Qatar's founders, freelancers, and SMEs — who often enter into contracts with vendors, landlords, or partners without much visibility into their history — this gives a real, verifiable checkpoint before money or signatures change hands. For companies with clean records, it's also a chance to build credibility with an official stamp, rather than relying on reputation alone.
